What is your take on the Mackie Fr 800 power amp?

Also, does anyone make a rack mounted tube preamp for bass?

    Thanks a million!

  2. I know BBE does, not sure what model, I think Fender also does. If you do a search I'm sure there is a HEAP.

Mackie is made by LOUD. LOUD owns Ampeg. We know how badly that's going. Why even risk it?

Yep, search within this forum here on Talkbass. If the regular search doesn't do any good for you, then try the Google TB advanced search. We have literally hundreds of threads and thousands of posts talking about a wide array of tube preamps for bass. There are many, many, many of them, new and old, at all price points from $100 to $2000. So be sure to specify your real budget when inquiring about preamps. ;) Also be sure to visit www.basstasters.com where they have sound clips of a great many tube preamps recorded with various basses.
