Help Charvel Bass

I have a 80's Charvel Hockey Stick P/J bass. When I played it my amp sounded like the speaker was blown. I tried a new amp and the same thing happened. It dosen't happen all the time it comes and goes that's why I think it must have something to do with the bass. Maybe the electronics. Can someone please help I don't know what to do and can't get in touch with my usual Bass guy don't know where he went. Thanks

I am the charvel guru around here, but your question is too general...what model is it? is it preamped with a dead battery or a bad pot on the j2000 board?...is it a passive with a bad jack?...etc...more info is needed

if you don't know what model it is post a pic or 2, I'll know what it is if you don't.
