Help, connecting two heads

What I am looking at doing the following:
Head A - using its EQ etc
Head B - using its power and running from it to the speakers (has 2 ohm min)

Head B will be running an 8x10 (4ohm) and a 15 (8 ohm) therefore Head B can run near its max capacity since it will be running at 2.??? ohms (what ever the math is)

Is this possible and best way.

It is possible depending on the specific heads. Head A has to have an output jack that is labeled "line out", "preamp out", "effect send", "post EQ insert", "slave out", or something similar. Head B has to have an input jack labeled "line in", "power amp in", or "effect return". The idea is to take a line directly from the preamp section of Head A, and feed it directly into the power amp section of Head B, bypassing Head B's internal preamp. Not all heads have those jacks.

Both do so that is not a problem. I would then be able run to my cabinets from Head B, utilizing Head B's power but Head A's eq, volume control, effects etc. ??

Yep, that's how it works generally. There are some weird exceptions out there, like with parallel effects loops or strange loop signal levels, so I can't say it will work 100% the same way for every amp. But generally speaking, you're on the right track. Head B will be the one providing power to the speakers, and the 8+4 ohm setup has a 2.67 ohm total load. About 1/3 of the total power will go to the 8 ohm cab.

Also make sure that head A is ok with running no speakers from it. I know my Ampeg B5R has the preamp out option, which i ran that to a separate power amp that had more power than the head, but my GK 1001rb manual did not recommend powering up the head without a speaker load on it. I could be wrong though!! Better safe than smokey

Head A is a Trace Elliot GP&SM130 (ah130sm) and though is a head, is marked as a preamp?? Second head B is a Mark VI xp

Can you post pics of the specific jacks you're using? And I can't find the manuals online, can you either post links to them, or type in the sections of the manuals talking about these in/outputs?

I cannot find the manuals either. I ran from the line out of the trace to the Pwr in on the Peavey. Any thoughts?

Now mine is the XP which the only difference really is the look and separate controls for the compression.

What I am looking really on doing is getting the best use of power that I can.

This is the exact equip I am using:
Trace Elliott GP7SM130 Head (130W RMS - 250peak) with two 8 ohm outputs in back (which I assume means its min load is 4ohm)

Peavy Mark IV - 800w ( min 2ohm, 400W 2 Ohm or 250 at 4 Ohm)

Cabinets
15" Black widow 8 ohm speaker

810 cabinet (8 32 ohm wired to 4ohm)

Currently the Trace runs the 810 and the Peavey the 15, the signal is split from a Boss GT-6B Effects Processor (has stereo outputs so one sent to each head currently)

Well it did work this time going from the Trace line out to the Peavey input. Only problem is it did not do what I was hoping and that is use the power from the peavey and the tones of the Trace. The volume was at least half.
Going back to the old way and messing, Peavey running all speakers, good volume.
Trace running 810, good volume - also if running 15"
Peavey running 15" - not a clean signal.

HMMM what to do.
