Help date me Jag bass plz.

Not sure this is entirely true, my Jag is an '08 and the neck is stamped MIJ.

I could be wrong. I have been in the past. I lurk on a telecaster forum, and that is where I read about it. I may have misunderstood or it only applies to teles.

Regarding hum...

Mine has a slight hum that comes from single coils, but nothing major. The shielding job I did helped... but it wasn't really objectionable in the first place. Keep in mind, mine is modded so that I have have independent volume controls for each pup, so I will get single coil hum when the volumes do not "match".

Lug, thanks much, your a life saver, much appreciated.

Also, beware of the Jag hum (or buzz).

Unless the previous owner shielded it properly, prepare yourself for a little shielding job of your own as the active electronics on the Jags out of the factory are noisy!

Which leads me to a question for other Jag owners... did any of you find you shielded it, and still had a noisy bass? Just me? :hmm:
P, bought this bass this past Sat eve and did not get a chance to play it thru an amp until a half hour ago and YES I am exp. the buzz you've spoke about. Thx for the heads up and links about it, will start to try and get started on eliminating the buzz soon. And again thx for all the help from everyone. Hwystar.
