Note that many players don't hear speakers being damaged before the damage occurs. That's why I mentioned it.

IME, the sounds of a speaker in starting to get in trouble and one that just sustained damaged are often quite similar and hard to tell apart. This is especially true when concentrating on playing your instrument as opposed to being focused on listening for speaker health status.

I fully respect that others may disagree and have experience that says otherwise. I would just say that people in this category have been very lucky.
