help dividing file on DR-2d

Can anyone provide tips on dividing a file on a Tascam DR-2d? I've read the manual repeatedly, and the only restrictions I find are: 1) has to be .wav; 2) enough space on SD; 3) new file name does not exceed 200 characters. Am I missing anything else? I'm good on all 3 requirements, but the menue to proceed w/ the divide never pops up as it shows in step 4 of the manual.

I'm trying to break a full set-long file into seperate tracks.

Other than this, I love the DR-2d--makes great recordings--have plenty of AA batteries though, and buy the optional power supply

I can answer my own question after spending time on the phone w/ tascam tech support: The instruction manual is not correct.

On page 50, "Divide a file", step 4, the correct button to push is "record", not "enter". it will then ask if you want to divide the file, then hit "enter". case closed.

Now that I know can do this, I can record complete sets of the band, break the file down into individual tracks, hook up the usb to my laptop and burn a cd w/ windows media player. Quick and easy! Great product!
