Hi folks,
I need someone's help with an eBay auction that went a bit wrong.
My friend often visits the US and brings stuff for me (I live in Israel). It makes bidding for US only items possible.
This time, he couldn't get his hotel info on time, so now I'm stuck with a seller that must receive his money and deliver the item (a small half rack audio device) to the US but with no shipping address to provide.

Would anyone be kind enough to receive the item and send it to me to Isarel? If so, please PM me your name, address and phone number.

Hi.

Sure it's been a while since the last time (~6 years), but You didn't learn anything from the first time that happened?

Be upfront with the seller and I'm pretty sure You guys can work something out.

I use middle men as well since I don't have neither a pay-pay account or evil-bay account, but these things have to be handled correctly and openly in order to avoid problems.

The way I see it is to pay for the item now and wait for the next window of recieving it to open.

Just my 0.2€ anyway.

I have been totally upfront with the seller from start but he just ignores me and asks for a new address, and I know he won't wait for a next opening and just ship it to a void address. And I don't really like your comment about learning from the past, it's not like you see requests like these coming from me every day, and you're not my dad, so keep it to yourself if you don't know the full details yet. **** happens, and might happen to you as well.

Now, if anyone here feels like being kind for a change and help, please PM.

You're describing pretty much a classic scam, from way before internet.

I'm not implying that Your intention is to scam someone, but it sure looks like it from a distance.

Who said anything about shipping the goods right away, before recieving the money?

The seller must be pretty dumb to refuse a payment for the item + shipping to an adress You provide him/her later when it suits your friend. AFTER the money is in his/her bank account.

OR, You can use a freight forwarder, I'm pretty sure you have quite a few to choose from.

Put Yourself in the sellers shoes, and ask yourself if you were willing to risk losing the item + postage just because you were so ignorant not to notice a classic pattern?

You can like what you want, but the details you gave us point the blame to one direction only.
And this is the second time You make the same request.

I'm pretty glad I'm not Your dad, I'd be embarassed it if I wasn't able to teach the very basics of international trading to my offspring.
If I had any that is.

Happens all the time, that's called life, but I try to learn from them as well as from the mistakes of others.
I rarely make the same mistake twice.
Nor do I duplicate someone elses mistake on purpose.


I do apologise if You feel I peed in your cereals, but I somewhat doubt that with the scarse information you're willing to provide, anyone else will be any more symphatetic to your situation.
