Help for hearing Standards changes better.

There's a book 'The Harmonc Langugae of Jazz Standards'

The last few years I've been teaching myself keyboards and really got hung up on this book, and then bought a Sinatra fakebook and next thing you know I've decided I want to learn to play bass lines to standards. Didn't expect thinsg to turn out like this, but I mention this because the book is powerful -- like potentially life-changing.
 
the majority of jazz is 2-5-1 or 2-5 changes..

If you practice jazzy blues, rhythm changes, autumn leaves, a minor blues, bird blues,

you will get an enormous amount from just practicing those forms..
