I just rented my first upright and I knocked off the bridge. I tried to put it back the way it looked and now every time I try to tighten the strings the g pops off the bridge. Is there any easy way to fix it because I don't wanna go back to the shop I rented from after 2 days of having it and saying look what I ****ed up. I appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the bridge was cut wrong, or at least the nut slots were cut wrong. A couple of minutes of filing by the right pair of hands will fix it.

Take it back to the place from which you rented it and ask them to make it right; it's what they do.
It sounds like the outside edge of the groove has been rounded off by the string repeatedly running over it.
Get some round needle files from a hardware store and carefully deepen the groove.
When you are satisfied with the results, lubricate the groove with pencil lead.
Only take a little off at a time so you don't ruin the spacing.
It's a good idea to practice on some scrap wood to get a feel for how much pressure you'll need to use.
The needle files will come in useful later if you need to adjust the nut on your or a student's instrument.
Oh yeah, when you move a string in and out of a groove, be sure to grip it on both sides of the bridge and lift it out by applying downward pressure on the bridge with your thumbs so it doesn't touch the side of the groove but gets seated directly in and out of the groove. (Hope that makes sense.)

The G string popping off is not your fault. Also, it's nothing to be ashamed of knocking the bridge down it happens. Learning to handle the bass is a big task too.
