Running a passive P bass into a Berg modded TD100 into an IP 112EX.
I can only put about two notches on the gain before I start to hear some fairly unpleasant distortion/fuzz. This is way before the drive light starts to flicker - and when it does it doesn't sound good.
Just wondered if this was normal. I was under the impression that the Summit wouldn't distort so easily.
Two gain notches sounds great but I wonder if the unit is working correctly? What gain settings do others get away with? Should it distort at all?

. When you get the distortion it's quite nice. With the Summit you are just adding more and more tube to the signal when you crank it. What cable are you using? Which output are you coming out of? Dumb question but does it have the sticker saying it has the mod? Can you swap it for another one they say has the mod? How high is the IP cranked?
