help - GK 800S Fusion can't trigger clipping

Hey there,

So I bought a Fusion 800S a couple months ago from the shop and this has been bugging me for a bit. I tried emailing GK support a couple times but have got no response. Hoping I can find some help here.

Basically the Fusion Manual (pdf warning) on page 6 tells you to start with trim at max, level and mast at zero. Then dial up master to find your playing level, and drop trim down when it clips.

My problem is that I have not ONCE seen the darn trim knob flash red at me, for the aforementioned clip alert!

Before you ask - yes I have attacked this thing with an active pickup bass. My test basses are a fender JBass and a EB stingray. So what gives? I've seen the trim go red when I turn the head on. Is it normal to just stay at max trim or not see it flash? Is my unit missing something?

I asked about this issue with the legacy amp.

These models have a lot of head room on the input, so it the clip light doesn't flash leave the trim dimed. (all the way up)

Okay sweet - I guess if I threw some pedals in front of it I might eventually hit it. I'll leave it up til then, thanks!
