Contact [email protected] you may have one with the solder flux issue, I believe they are still taking care of folks with the issue. Send him your S/N and your discription of the issue.

HELP: GK Backline 600 Distortion problem

I'd just take it in now and cash in on the warranty. Any work you do yourself (including soldering) could void the warranty.
I had one that did this same thing. I didn't feel the amp was worth sending in to GK for repair, not to say GK doesn't make quality units, but I feel the Backline products really lacked good quality control and design testing. After I found out the issue was an on going problem, I traded it to a kid who wanted a head with distortion on all the time for his Hartke 3500. Everybody Happy!!
