Help! I don't know how to choose a replacement speaker for a ported/vented cab

So after reading all your lovely posts I'm getting the feeling that speakers are not categorized as being for ported/vented cabs? So these cabs are supposed to have an extended bottom end and it wouldn't matter if a speaker, like the Emenence Deltalite II 2512 that has less lower end frequency response (from what the graph on Emenence's website says) wouldn't be a match made in heaven...frequency response-wise?

They are often specified by the manufacturer if desighned for ported.

Otherwise Efficiency Bandwidth product of a driver is a good indcation if it is more suited for ported or sealed. Always exceptions but general rule of thumb is

50 or lower = sealed
60 to 90 = ported and sealed
100 or higher = ported only

Simply divide Fs of the driver by Qes
To get EBP ( efficiency bandwidth product)

Fs = free air resonant frequency
Qes = Electrical Quailty
