Help! I don't know what's wrong with my rig!

Hrrrm. Well, I don't know. You need a crossover that is built for 16ohm drivers. Not too many of those out there. Usually people buy the 16ohm speakers in multiples then run them in parallel to bring them down to 8ohm (like 2x 12" and 2x8").

yeah I just had a look at all of eminences crossovers and they are all 8 ohm. If I were to buy another 8 inch I could possibly do it but I truly think I would be better off buying another 12. The 12 reaches from 58hz to 5khz anyway which is (from what iv'e researched) plenty for bass. I don't think i'll be converting to 5 string any time soon anyway. would my 8 inch still choke up and buzz even in a separate cabinet though?

That is the program I use to help determine cabinet size and porting dimensions. I suggest you play with it to help determine how to build your cabinet. I would also suggest getting another 12 and making a 2x12 box, no crossover needed.

Probably. It's a mid. IIRC it doesn't like to handle stuff below about 100hz or so. Also, you're feeding a tiny little 8 the same amount of wattage as a 12", and it just can't keep up. Your best bet might be to ditch the 8 and use a single 12 in a cab with the right volume and porting.

The Facebook page has the link to the current version, 0.7.0.900, this is the direct link: http://www.linearteam.org/download/winisd-07x.exe

Anything that says Pro, Alpha, or Beta is obsolete AFAIK.

Eminence say that it is recommended to have porting for that 12" but yet they still give specs for a sealed enclosure with that speaker, do you think I could have a sealed enclosure? yeah I am going to go with a nice 2x12 and drop the 8". maybe I'll be able to sell it on ebay or find another use for it in the future maybe...

so I unplugged my 8" and just ran my 12" and when I got to 4 on the master it still had that sound so I unplugged my 12" and just ran my 8" and it seemed to handle my low E perfectly without that annoying sound, until I got to 4 on the master though. Do you think it is just that my cab is built crummy or do you think it is the head?
