Help I need a new amp

Now I'm just spitballing here but....if you like SWR and are familiar with SWR as you have clearly stated I'd just go used and get a 750 not the 750x. Or a SM900. Both of those would be plenty loud. I've A/B'd both of those next to my SVT and besides tone the SWR stood proud and loud!

Ultimately it would be badass to have a 750 and a Megolioth or two golioths.

Well, I did not start this thread to overly debate my cab's (which always happens), but I digress... I am currently looking at an Ampeg SVT-6Pro. I passed on it before when I went with the 7Pro, but I can't remember why. I am also looking at a bunch of the other amps suggested. Since I have never used a full tube amp, I don't know what I would think of them. I have used SWR since 1986 and am a giant fan of them.

Thunderfunk once insulted me out of the blue because I couldn't hear a difference with those snake oil ESP electrical cords he plugs all over his website, so he could make a 1 lb. amp that sounds just like an SVT in every way and I wouldn't give him the time of day.

Won't make a difference in the studio, either. They use the same power everyone else in their neighborhood uses, and the same cheap AC lines run through their buildings as everyone else's unless they find a builder who has them pegged as marks.

Well, I am looking into a used SWR Bass 750.. Got my eye on one. It will be a back up. My problem is I do not have the trust in my current Bass 750 to actually not have a back up. If that falls through for the price I am wanting, I will most likely be looking at a Thunderfunk.. It seems to be a similar type amp and seems to be able to give me what I am looking for in a replacement for my 750. Super clean high power and just a smidge of warmth from that tube (yes I know TF does not have the tube)

Not that anyone has been paying attention, but I just did a search to find some other information on this subject. A thread back in 2009 caught my eye.. Had a ton of great information about SS and Tube amps (not one specifically) but more about watts and perceived loudness and such. Great 4 page thread with a lot of helpful comments.. Just so you know, I started the thread. So, I have been wrestling with this task for 6 years and still really have not made an actual decision.. Man I suck at change.
