Help identify Fender P bass

Hi Folks,

I need help identifying a bass I recently purchased. The neck plate says it's a 75'. The pickups are 74. But I'm having trouble with the body and neck.

The pickup pocket says NATURAL. I'm assuming it's the color of the body.

Yes...the neck and the body....based on the stamps I first posted.

I'm not an expert but it looks authentic to me. Actually its a pretty nice looking bass. There were a lot of naturals made during the mid 70's.

It's in pristine condition...got it for 1500 USD. The only thing I think is not original are the pots.

Would you say the neck and body are original?? Judging from the stamps on the heel and the heel pocket??

I don't know enough about old Fenders to say for sure, I'm the wrong guy to ask.

You can try to date it by the pots using this site: Potentiometer Dating Decoder GuitarInsite

Worth a try.

It's surely possible for a neck or body to be cut and assembled at a later date.

Beautiful P. Enjoy! Turn it way up and punch your neighbors in the throat.

And beagles love bass.

Looks correct to me. Neck pocket even has the standard Fender inspection stamp. Don't know why you are questioning its authenticity.

Crazy to buy it before verifying unless you bought it for dirt cheap and i mean under 500 dirt cheap, nice bass you lucked out!

I have a natural 75 P. On mine, the stamps are very faded and hard to read, but that Torres guy inspected mine too, so it's legit. By the way, mine weighs 13.5 lbs. How heavy is yours?
