Help Identify this Mustang Bass

I'm so old, I remember when Mustang's were the nickel & dime series of Fender basses.

How times have changed.

I've owned 3 of these, one white and two of the red ones. They are super fun to play, and have a gritty sound of sorts. Wish i had kept at least one of them, crazy how they've doubled in price in last 3 years...

Fender Pawn Shop Series, 2012-2013. Used to have one on 3 tone sunburst, pretty cool instrument but couldn’t make it work on a band setup. Traded it for an American Precision that I absolutely love.

From the ancient texts of TB! This is what I followed, it’s describing doing the mod to a Squier Tele bass with the mudbucker in the neck position. All you have to do for the Mustang is take out the 3 screws on the control plate. It really is as easy as it is described. White to green and red to the back of the pot!

I had one of the red ones and I didn`t really like it. It looked well cool but the sound wasn`t what I was after at the time. I traded it in against a Yam BB 1024. I can`t believe that someone would pay the kind of money they are asking for these, much better with traditional Mustang pickup.

I thought it was just 'asking' prices, but here's the 'sold' prices on reverb:

I agree 100%! In fact, I wouldn’t pay a dime over $595… that way I’d have leftover cash to hop in the ol’ T-Bird and take Peggy Sue for a root beer float at the soda fountain. Maybe she’d even let me hold her hand to the sweet sounds of The Big Bopper! Oh boy, that would be swell!!!

If you look at the red one on the far right, it went for £1430 in pounds. I traded mine in for £300 and paid £500 for it brand new! They aint that good.

I think it is all about "timing"
If you are about list one for sale and see one at say $1700 you'll probably list yours with that in mind.
If you go to list and there are multiple listings that day at around $650 you'll probably list accordingly.
