Help identifying PuPs

FWIW:

I would speculate low-end imports, probably 60's-70's. Not US quality pups.

Do they even read when you stick a meter to them? If not then junk drawer material. If they do then solder some leads on and fire them up before you decide.

Also they are single coils.. the two rows of screw poles probably don't do anything, and are just for looks. You can see that in the last photo.

Yea I thought the screws looked pointless

Just unscrewed one...connected to nothing....

Not exactly sure what I am doing, but here are the meter settings/readings

X10 - meter barely moves
X100 - 100 ohms
X1K - 10 ohms

Obviously single coil.

Any good? or back in the drawer?

Is that an analog meter? That seems too low... 100 ohms is low even for a low impedance pickup. Might be the meter or the pickup.

I'd connect one to a cable and hold it over the strings on a bass and see if you get a signal.

Yeh I thought that was pretty wierd. All the empty space and those bend over tabs holding the covers on made me think of Tonka Toys. All the corrosion indicates chinsey materials.

Then again the early Dan electro pups looked like a piece of welding slag. All that really matters is whether whoever finds the tone appealing.

Someone told me they might be from a Kent....which meen cheapy....

I'm thinking they might have come from a copy of a hofner (beatle bass)...did Kent ever make a copy?

Any other copy companies make Vios in the 70's?
