Help identifying this Squire, please?

Hi,
This is my daughter's bass, we bought it 2nd hand and are 95% sure it was originally bought in Portugal in the 2000's (but not 100%)
The body has a metallic paint finish, but a quite subtle one so it doesnt show in photos.
I have been searching for some time online, including using the serial number shown in the last of the 3 photos, but with no luck
Any ideas, please?

There is something VERY spectacular about it - the look on my 13 year old daughter's face when she got it

There's one at my local Music Go Round - the truss rod is maxed out and the neck is badly bowed, otherwise I'd own it.

Your daughter is a lucky girl.
Her bass is a copy of the most venerated bass design in history. Built by very capable people in Indonesia at an affordable price point. And its a darn good looking red one at that.
When I was 13, if I was gifted that bass...I too would be proud of it.
Did she add the stickers? Or was that the first owner?

She put the stickers on.
She started on it last year and takes 1/100th of the time to pick things up as I do
She also sings in her 'School of Rock' band
She then just got on a drum kit, put on a couple of YT vids and off she went, I know nothing about that, but I can hear rhythm
Don't you just hate youngsters?
I like to say she got all my talent - but it seems like she left none behind
As you can tell, I am very proud of her
However, she is also 14 now so I have been flung down from my pedestal with the sound of a splintering heart, God, Fatherhood hurts , my poor parents!

Back onto the bass - how do I know it is one of them - it looks the same, has all the same specs that I can see (PJ pickups, narrower J-Bass neck, 38 mm nut, P body, etc), it comes from 2005, but how do I know it isnt a different Standard series Squier? Could it be anything else?

There is absolutely no reason for me wanting to know other than my curiosity.

There's nothing belittling about that statement and it's probably been reiterated 1000 times here. It is what it is. The bass may be perfect for their needs or even Pino. You may even want to use one.

Not to speak on someone else's behalf, but I understood that to mean that it's a Precision bass, even if it's made in Indonesia not the USA it's still going to sound and feel like the bass that you've heard on so many songs throughout the years. @Pdaddy1978 please correct me if I misunderstood.

To me it looks kind of like Donald Dunn's beloved Candy Apple Red P basses.

I am so glad to hear it brings your daughter so much joy. My oldest is 8 years old and is very talented with visual art, which has never been my strong suit. She still thinks I'm the greatest but I know it won't last forever... I will enjoy it while it lasts!

I doubt it - that has all the signs of being a Squier Standard Series Precision bass. It's a really nice instrument - like I said above I'd have one except it had the truss rod maxed out. It sounded great and I loved the neck feel, just the action was SUPER high with no way to tame it.

You're right, it was pretty early when I looked earlier, overlooked the 00s.
