Help ID'ing This Fretless Bass

Can anyone help identify who made this? It's fretless with a set neck. It's a good quality build, but has no markings other than the headstock "R".

That's some odd construction. My bet is it's a homemade custom bass. But as always, I could be wrong.

It didn't look like any R Basses I've seen in pics, but could possibly be an older model.

My first thought was it's a homemade custom, but the quality seems very good for homemade. Someone suggested it could have possibly been a European kit bass, but I'm not familiar with what that exactly is.

Nice looking bass but never seen that headstock or logo. Wonder if it’s a home build? There are zillions of small makers.

I'll go for "homemade" too, the overall construction looks solid, but that is a strange neck joint. It looks like a bolt on set up, but with no bolts/screws?

I was thinking that looks like the Rogue logo, but after googling for images I only see Rogue basses with the full name on the headstock, not just an R. It also doesn't look like any Rogue bass I've ever seen.

Maybe an early bass by Clifford Roi, AKA Norsang. Later he used a flying dove emblem.

I went to the R bass site and the logo does look similar and the while the headstock shape is different than the R bass photos show, both headstocks have that notch at the very top.

I sent them an email, will be back with their response.

There are aspects to the design that pretty much scream homemade to me. Looks like there’s a crack in the lower part of the fingerboard that could use some super thin super glue to wick in and seal it up. The body is mahogany, or a pseudo mahogany like Khaya or Sapele with a burled wood top.
