i have the pickup wired correctly as passive to a 250k vol and 250k tone.

for the output jack do i need to use a stereo jack or a mono jack?

also, what kind of capacitor do i need to use?

The ring terminal of a TRS jack is used to switch the negative terminal of the battery to ground, by using the cable to short the ring and sleeve terminals together.
Since you will not be using a preamp, you only need tip and sleeve terminals, though either jack will work.

The value of the capacitor depends on how dark you want the tone to be when rolling down the tone.

I would reccommend a 0.047uF capacitor.

if you're going to run it passive, i suggest you wire the pickup series, rather than the typical stingray's parallel. that way, the pickup will provide its own low end, rather than depending on a preamp to boost it up like the stingray.
