Double Bass HELP!! Long Beach Pickup

Hey all,
I'm a bassist on a cruise ship and my upright pick up just crapped out. I was wondering if anyone knows of a shop in Long Beach where I could "pick up" another one. I won't have alot of time in the port and we are only there the one day before we head through Mexico, the Panama Canal and the over to the carib. so I figure long beach is more or less only chance for a couple weeks. We're in on Oct 3rd so if anyone knows of a shop or has one for sale Please let me know.

There's an excellent shop in Long Beach, "World of Strings". John is one of the 2 finest luthiers in the greater LA area...

yeah Jon. He and Lisa Gass are both wonderful and in different ways. Jon is very no nonsense, yet helpful and knowledgeable. Lisa is a wonderful helpful and brilliant luthier. She's in LA though...
