Help Me Choose A New PG For My Pbass

clear plexi - then paint the back - or use fabric or cardstock ( get some cool paterns )
I make them with a router and small Dremel tool.
this one is a cream mottled cardstock

I like to put Black Pearl on my black basses - it is really outstanding.

Maybe the Black Abalone - there are some additional colors to work with the maple.

Sorry here is the pic of the stock bass. Looks nice but way too much white IMO.

This bass is a great player and the action is sick low on the thing. Setup was dead on right from the factory. I got it for 949.00 off the wall from GC. It had been out on display for two days before I got it. Haven't owned a Maple neck since to 70's as I'm a Rosewood guy, but this thing played so good that I HAD to have it

So as not to be accused of forgetting my own thread.....

I finally decided to go with a black PG on the bass. It just got here yesterday 02/03/09. I'll get it on ASAP and post up a pic.

I never included black in my original choices, but the more I saw black / maple P's with black PG's I just thought it would look real good

OK, here's the bass with the new black guard.

Looks way better with the black guard. I like the way the white stripes on the guard give a pinstripe look.

Yes, I think it looks really nice with the black.

I was seriously leaning towards tort but I don't like the look of tort on black with maple. I love the look with rosewood though. I tried a gold anodized I have here but didn't like the look, plus it doesn't have the truss rod cut out so I canned that idea.

Maybe a black pearloid might look good too. I'm going to possibly take the stock white PG and do a Van Halen stripe job on it just to see what that looks like.

By the way, I voted Gold Anodized, but the black/white/black (or is it just white/black?) looks sweet. Good call.
