Help me decide

Hartke lh500 + avatar 210 or Carvin bx500 + Carvin brx210. Either rig will likely eventually just be used as power for a vt bass deluxe which I don't have yet. Will be using an sg bass with a Dimarzio model one. Most likely will be playing classic rock, misfits type punk, maybe some metal. I would prefer it be rather well rounded though.

All thoughts, opinions, and suggestions welcome.

Also, not likely to play shows. Just hanging out, jamming with friends.

The Carvin head will be a lot more transparent overall versus the Hartke LH500. The Hartke head has a decent clean tone, but is not very versatile since it is based on the Fender tone stack. Basically, the flat setting is 1 - Bass, 10 for Mid, 1.5 for treble. The Carvin head is much more versatile and not based on the Fender tone stack. When using the VT Bass pedal on the Carvin head (I use the same pedal with a BX1200), you can hear the VT Bass's effect immediately - I think you will like that.

Get the Carvin rig - it will be great for moderately loud rehearsals, some gigs and for your enjoyment.

Yeah, the tone stack on the Hartke has me worried, but I figured I could just da on the pedal. I'm leaning hard toward the Carvin though.
