Should I sell my blueline SVT?

I don't think I will ever need my blueline SVT again. Maybe I'm wrong. But I do know I have a new gig I LOVE and there is no need for it, and the band tries to stay on the reasonable side of volume. I don't really have the cash or another rig and probably won't for a while. Meanwhile I will have the schlep my SVT everywhere.

I will regret selling won't I? As far as hybrids go I really like the Ampeg SVT-7pro and the SVT212-AV looks good perhaps. OR I could try and save a little for a B-100R and put the SVT in the closet.

While I am hardly the one to praise an SVT, if I had an SVT blueline and needed a smaller rig, I'd save some money and buy a great (smaller/lighter) USED cabinet that is SVT friendly. Micro heads are cheap used, too.

Use the head with a new 212 (or whatever), and stash the 810 cabinet in a corner until you need it. A spare 810 ampeg makes a great backup, and can double as a towel rack if needed. Ok, just kidding about that last bit.

I'm 55 and still lug around a wall of Hiwatts and can't see using anything else. I have a bunch of vintage gear and had a number of vintage SVTs. Hard to find not that hard to move imho. I'd keep the SVT and find a small rig.

The only reason I have ever considered selling my Bue Line is because I use the Heritage these days instead, otherwise there's no way in hell I'd even think about it. I would, however, get a smaller combo. I just got a BA112 v2 that rocks quite well. It's a little difficult to use an SVT on everything, but no way in hell I'd sell it.

Never let it go. I love my SVT 3-Pro for smaller gigs, and it's easy to transport. Sounds great with my Isovent, PR-1528HE, PR-1832HE, SVT 610HLF. Never had a 410 though. KEEP IT!!!!!

You're 33. How could you possibly know if you'll "never need it again".

If I had one, the only time it would be getting sold is by my heirs after I'm dead.

Find a 4ohm 212 to play it with for smaller stuff. And/or pickup a cheap micro head...pf350 or something...without selling the Pig. They don't cost much. Can get it just by skipping a few lame movies or having a couple less beers each day, or doing one car repair yourself instead of bringing it in to the shop.

Get a smaller cab, or get the micro VR with one or two matching 2x10's. I wish I never would have sold my 73 blackline, and I wish I still had my micro VR rig :(

One thing I have noticed is that as soon as I sell something that fits a specific need, I need it like 3 months later.

B100R is tons of fun. I regret letting mine slip away. It got caught up in a trade for a Buster Bass combo. I ended up selling Buster to snag a deal on a Rectifier. That is how gear transforms...

I think JimmyM uses his SVT for any/everything, even coffee shop gigs!

I'm 54 and schlep around old Acoustic Control amplifiers. They are about the same weight class, give or take. 33 is a spring chicken. If I had an SVT and I liked it, I would keep it. Schlep with pride. Anybody who thinks it is overkill forgot it has a volume knob.
