Help me finish my polystyrene cab build

I think you are introducing too many new innovations (variables) . If the unit does not perform as expected it will be harder to isolate the root cause. I believe your floating baffle will leak. Why not mount it rigidly (with more fasteners and glue) and front load the driver conventionally?

It will be screwed into the mounting blocks built into the front face of the cab which were glued to the internal plywood bffle support. There is a photo of it before I mounted it to the front foam panel further up the thread. The open cell layer would be compressed to act like a gasket. I want the front panel to be easily removable.
 
I actually cobbled a removable gasket/soft mount. I took one of those interlocking foam floor tiles from the hardware store and cut out the front baffle panel from it and cut the diameter of the speaker out of the middle of it. Seems to work fine. Screwed it into the inset wood blocks.

What cut off frequency?
Remains to be seen once you give it some welly. You might find low C D even E or F at volume also fart it. Some retuning could be in order but you said it sounds good apart from the B farts.
Look up a speaker's cut-off frequency, it's important.
Not sure how filter cutoff frequency relates to the speaker. I thought it was more relevant to the box tuning and excursion limited power handlIng v power applied.
