HELP ME FOR CHOOSING A COMPRESSOR ?

Hi every one nowadays my mind is occupied by the compressors! I mean, im in two minds about choosing the right one?!!
well, actually; I'd like to buy a rack compressor for stage !! is there any chances of saying to me your suggestions?
Im truly interested to know your opinions? on the side, let me tell you my choices that I've made, it maybe help you in giving your advice to me?

the first choice is Ashly audio clx-52 and the 2nd is DBX 1066? but, Im looking for something which doesn't change my sound and actually, with low noise, transparent, less pumping...!! if you have any other suggestions that you think is more suitable, I look forward to hearing from you?
I'd appreciate you guys if you helped to put me right?

For studio or stage? It baffles me to see bassists still showing up to gigs with 300 pound racks.....in 2012! LOL...funny as hell.

TLaudio are really nice and can match your budget, if you find some fatman used on the net, they are awesome and pretty versatile, plus it won't be so expensive.

well the 1176 works well on bass IME, (both hardware and UAD plug-in) it has that bite. Someone on this forum actually made a pedal 1176 compressor wich was very interesting.

Optical compressors also works well, like the Universal Audio LA-610 wich I love and use mostly for recording, but I´m sure using it live in front of any amp will put a smile on your face.

Funny but I used a SM Pro Audio 8 channel rack optical compressor that was impressive for the price of the unit (100 euros)

The side chain EQ is really cool and very functional.

Also has a side chain loop if you are into "ducking"

One of your requirements was low noise.

The Opti-FET is NO noise.

I think the dbx 160a (or x or xt) is a good choice. Its easy to use, hard to screw up and its cheap.

I wouldn't put anything expensive in a live rig. Hell, I wouldn't use a compressor on a live rig (but thats me).
