Help me get this tone!?

Is the gist of these sorts of bass tones just bridge pickup, roll the tone off, and add an octaver? Or is there more to it? It's kind of a modern fusion sort of tone. I dig it.




Seems like it's mostly an OC-2, bridge pup, and maybe tone rolled like half way off, maybe? I've been really digging Evan Marien lately and then through that I discovered Anika's tunes and I've been hooked on those those two since.

A recent octave pedal listening test

I'll say though, that there are many VST plugins that do octavers better.
Some of the pedals in Amplitube, for one. But also many pitch shifters can do it, and let you signal process the lows for a more synth sound.

Just hearing the amount of sustain he's getting, I would say he's a got a compressor going pretty hard as well.
