Help me identify this speaker, please

Out of Yorkville BC115 cabinet, it's either an Eminence Delta or an Eminence Delta Pro. I can't find enough info on Eminence's or Yorkville's site to make a decision. I can post a picture if no one knows a way to tell offhand, thanks!

I'm guessing it's a Pro, because it's in a bass cabinet. I think the regular Delta's are home audio, but I have to be sure so the guy orders the right kit for me to recone.

Mods feel free to delete after I get a response.

Probably a special design by Eminence.

But yes customer support should help you
there should be a part number stamped on the back of the cone.

I believe the Delta Pro would have a cast frame. this speaker is a stamped steel frame.

So its either a Delta or Kappa the Delta is 2.5 inch voice coil
Kappa is 3 inch voicecoil.

The magnet is a little large for a Delta its most likely a special design. Eminence should be able to recommend a suitable recone. depending on the size of the voicecoil.

Otherwise just buy a Eminence Legend CB15 its a higher quality cast frame speaker around 130 bucks.
your recone will be 70 to 120. spending a extra 30 bucks or so for a new speaker is well worth it. Instead of going with a slightly cheaper 80 or 100 dollar driver if you do end up buying something new.

Sorry guys was (and still am as of 8 this morning) waiting on a response from CS....wasn't ignoring that suggestions.

How does the Legend stack up against this, as a replacement?

I'm 90% sure now that this is a Delta Pro, and have been quoted on a reconing at around $90.....looking forward to getting this fixed :)

The frame shape is a dead giveaway that it's not a current driver; Eminence hasn't used that frame for at least ten years. Most of their cast frame OEM models are slightly different than stock. Most of their stamped frame are not; they're not going to make ten versions of $20 drivers. It's been known for 50 years that the only thing special about 'Fender Special Design' drivers is the Fender Special Design sticker on the back.

Alright, I didn't see the part in Bogey's post about stamped steel vs cast frame...its definitely stamped steel.

I called eminence and got one of their techs on the phone....he confirmed it's a Yorkville OEM product made to their specs, so reconing isn't possible.

And this is the replacement he recommends :

Eminence Kappa-15A 15" American Standard Speaker: Amazon.com: Musical Instruments

Could have been a lot worse. $122 shipped, and will solve the problem and I'll have a brand new speaker....and since we've recently quoted this cab at only being worth $125-150, I'm basically just renting it for free for awhile :P

Thanks alot for everyone's help, any other comments feel free to make but I think we got it!

edit: what do I do with this old, completely useless speaker? Recycling?

Saw the magnet off, fasten it to the end of a stick and use it to pick up nails out of your driveway.

FWIW, the Legend is also a good fit for your cab. It would be a good bit warmer sound, the Kappa more twangy/bright. Depends on your tone preferences there.

Once you settle on a speaker, for the best price contact Dave at Avatarspeakers.com. I've gotten the best prices on Eminence speakers from him. He should be able to beat that Amazon price.

I heard from the eminence tech that since this was originally a stamped steel frame that the cast framed speakers might not fit. What's your take on this?
