Cherry or some other fruit wood is not out of the question but with those pictures anyone who answers is guessing. Was the wood grown in your neck of the woods or imported? Cherry is graded for darker/redder color here but the sapwood is very light in color and sometimes green when freshly milled.

No reason to think it's not cherry. Cherry thats freshly milled or not exposed to UV has a wide variety of colors and grain patterns. I frequently shop at a lumber dealer/mill and have seen quilted, curly, gum pocket, spalt, crotch, sapwood streaks, etc. in cherry. Over time it'll take a more reddish brown tone and even out in color.

Its poplar wood. This wood is light cream or yellowish brown shade with occasional streaks of grey or green color. It can also be seen with dark purple or red stains. The color tends to darken with exposure to light.
