So ive recently I quit drums to move over to bass and Ive been using my friends 4 string basic walmart special for just learning the basics. Now I was wondering what type of bass I could buy myself for Christmas. Ive been playing some 4 string metal like Converge and Deftones and Ive been fine with that, but Id really love to play some heavier stuff. Would a 5 string be required? If so, Ive been considering buying a LTD D-5, the bass looks great for the price. Should I go for that?
Also, what do I need to hook up my bass to my laptop and play on it through my speakers? Dont have room for an amp too
