I never had a full set of GHS super steels on the 36 inch scale only the C which I bought directly from GHS.
The super steel C is great with the DR High Beams 5. Not as zingy and more mids but not out of place with regards to output. At any rate I am going to put super steels in a 5 and 4 string by next string change.
So the story is I can only find a 5 string set of DR High Beams Extra Long Scale and GHS sold a 38 wind C. However for me - I need a smidge below 38 and I cannot get a Super Steel set for a 5, but you can get build a set using the singles or 4 string + C and B but they only offer a B 130 with a 38 winding which is too much for my bass
Singles - Bass Super Steels
As per fret-nation DR winding is 38 for long scale but some members here say it's 37.75 and if the latter is true then it will be a tad short for my 6 string.
I know fret-nation sells DR 6 string sets (not all models, but Pure Blues and Hi-Beams for sure) in long scale. I have an unopened 5 string set now and see if it fits my 36 and if does I may just order a set rather than doing it a-la-carte
