Help me please about EMG PICK UP & Preamp

Hi,everyone i'm a beginner, and sorry about my bad English i'll try to understand and make it better.

I want to change pick up into the another sound i've Schecter Damien 5,EMG HZ is pick up in this bass i want to change it into another pick up(EMG)
I want a sound like Metallica(or Thrash Metal) bass sound but have a deep and low sound too. Then what pick up should i change into my bass and to give me a sound like that.I really like 40DC it's great, but i want to combine it with another one.
I read the forum in this website and i read this "DC in the bridge, P5 in the neck, and only use three pots (two volume and one tone)."Is it good? and it will give me my sound like i said? and preamp i really really understande about it my friend tell me to use the EMG preamps because good to use it together, and someone tell me use another preamp like Bartolini it's great and make sound difference than EMG preamp. and what do you think about that? help me please to give me a comment and your idea to give me a sound do i like

Sorry about bad English and Thank you for help!!:help::help:

I had EMG 45dc on my steinberger spirit with 2 volumes and 1 tone.It was okay but it sounds better with the EMG BTC preamp. You replace the tone knob with a concentric pot for the bass and treble cut/boost.If you need more headroom, just set it up to 18 volts.

I use a EMG DC in my bridge and EMG 35P4 in the neck of my Godin. I believe my EMG preamp is a BTC System.

They are very good pickups for metal. The preamp allows you to shape sound more to your liking. If you look on the website they have very simple preamp and very complex preamp.
