Help me with Pickups Ibanez SR300

I think the pickups in those SR's are Ibanez made. The routes should be compatible with MK or P2 size pickups. P2 i s what you will find for most high quality pickups from brands like Nordstrand, Aguilar, Bartolini, Delano, etc. Trouble is, most of those options, new, will cost more than the entire bass.

I have some Carvin pickups for sale, which are P2 shape. Check the link in my sig.
Thanks!

I am not too concerned with buying used quality pickups......its sort of like buying used decent PAF types for Gibsons, they are generally easy to flip if need be.....at least that is what I am guessing

Otoh, as I mentioned, I have little experience with swapping bass guitar pickups other than some P bass types.

It sounds like there should be some used PU options for this SR300...any favs overall?

I have an Ibanez SRT800DX, in which I have installed and tested a whole bunch of pickups. For those SR pickup positions, I usually like single coils or sidewinders (which is like a single coil sound, but noiseless).

Ibanez actually designed a new dual coil for the 2016 SR lineup. It sounds pretty nice and is split-able to single coil. Although, I don't think the 4 string version is P2/Mk size.

I think I may have an answer for you.

I have several basses that are "better" than my Ibanez SR300; however, I've always loved playing the Ibanez because that neck can't be beat. The stock pickups in this bass suck!!! Let me say it again, they are terrible pieces of terd.

So I bought a set of US made Barts (that fit perfectly by the way) and had them installed by Bass Specialties in Bensalem, PA. I also had the active EQ ripped out and went passive -- I'm old school. It sounds so much better now.

The Barts you need are these:

Bartolini MK4CBC-B Dual Coil Bass pickup - Neck position

Bartolini MK4CBC-T Dual Coil Bass pickup - Bridge position

These links don't seem to work!

this may be a slight bit off topic, however;

Does anyone know what the extra preamp control is supposed to be on this orange sdgr300?
