help modding a musicmaster

I have a 78 musicmaster that I want to put a precision pickup in.
Whats the best way to route out the pickup cavity to make sure its all even and such?

Did you ebay it? They normally bring decent prices.

Also if you haven't already routed, a Dimarzio Fast track 1, a Seymour Duncan Cool rails or an EMG FT will fit in without modification and the first especially makes a very nice rock/blues pickup in shortscales.
