HELP!!! need good amp but cheap

hi, I'm new to this but i need a good combo amp for playing small pub gigs but i have v. sticked parents money wise and i think i could probably have an amp for at most 150 pounds or 250 dollars. please help

Good luck to you. Obviously, you'll need to shop used gear, and then get very lucky. Hope you work it out.

Yeah, shop around used. I don't know where you are located, but in the US you could pick up a Peavey combo for that amount and be fine for most gigs. Good luck with the search, go out and try a bunch of amps with your bass and see what you like.

I picked up a Line 6 low down 110 about a year ago. it puts out 75 watts and has pretty good sound and 5 presets that sound pretty good. also has a direct out so you can go into the house board if needed. I use it at church as an on stage monitor and a preamp that goes to the board. Paid $249 for it (seems to be the going price) Check out reviews on musiciansfriend.com.

You might want to check out the Fender Rumble line, too. I have one -- it's nothing fancy, but it will definitely get the job done for pub gigs.
