Hi, so I want to make kinda of an arrengement on Bass of a song for my GF, and start recording some of my things (also some covers).
But all I got is a Tascam DR-40 recorder, my room and an amp (duh)!!

Any tips on getting a good sounding recording of a bass with this equipment?
I use an Ampeg BA115 and an Epi Thunderbird (in betwen basses ATM).

Any help and advice is gretly apreciated :help:

See if you have a camera Tripod around, or if a friend does that's not very tall. There should be a place on the bottom of the recorder for it to connect. Then you can either put the tascam infront of the speaker, or in the back of the room. Try both! Its not as hard as you may feel it is. Its a digi recorder so you don't have to worry about wasting tape, etc. Just jump in the pool and splash around a bit. Set it anywhere, hit record, listen to it after, decide what needs to change (IE recording level or bass amp level).
