Help on ride on a Pony by Free

Hey I'm a new member here, so not sure I am in the right thread (Please redirect me if I have got it wrong) but hello to all my fellow bassists.

I am tabbing out and transcribing Andy Fraser's Ride on a Pony which is a great bass line. Not doing bad but can't make up my mind if this is 12/8 time triplets or whether it is a 16th Note type thing - anyone help - it is obviously a swing (shuffle) groove

I would notate this as 4/4 with shuffle feel

Thanks Chris for responding would you write as straight eighths then with a note to swing the eighths and make the main beginning riff a 2 bar figure?
