help picking a new bass

hey, i wanted to know if any of these basses are good for a beginner bass player. which of these basses is best for slapping on? I'm looking for a smooth jazzy sound like this amazing guy:

i've had a gretsch electromatic junior for a month now, and while its very very nice i just don't think its the best thing to learn on (being short scale and all) and i just feel like im missing out with a shorter bass. i still got a few days to return it. thanks for the input .

no, there are 3 different basses. they just look very similar.

I say go with the Dean Edge Mahogany.

okay fellas, u high or something? look at the knobs on them, they all different. there diff colors too. they're just different basses, period. k ill take a look at rondo thx man.

when I click on the 3 links, they are all Dean edge 09 in mahogany. with black hardware and one volume one tone.

all the same price.
