Thanks everyone. Was so much easier ( besides the actual transport) with a fridge haha.
A couple of questions though...
1) do you mind running me thru a step by step procedure on how to connect everything?
1) Get a stereo cable with 1/4" connector. The plug at the end should look
like the top plug in this picture.
2) If it's a simple cable, rather than a Y splitter cable, get a stereo to dual mono splitter box. This is what the Ric-O-Sound box was. You can get them at many places.
3) Connect the stereo cable to the output jack on your bass that says "Ric-O-Sound." This is the stereo output jack (the mono outpuck jack is labeled "standard."
4) Connect the stereo cable to the splitter box, if it's a simple cable, and connect the mono outputs of the box to two mono cables (standard instrument cables). Or if it's a stereo to mono Y cable, connect each of the mono output branches to standard instrument cables.
5) Connect each mono cable to the input of an amp.
6) Make sure the amps are connected to their respective speaker cabs with speaker cables.
7) Turn up really loud.
8) Rock.
2) if i use the 2x15 with the ampeg and the 4x12 with the sunn, how loud can i turn my amp? I mean is there anychance of blowing one of the cabs because the head is set on 7 for instance? Or does the sp,itter, in some way, dispatches the input to both vabs according to what they can take in?
This has nothing to do with running a stereo rig, or using two heads. There's a chance you can blow up your speakers whether your setup is simple or complex.
If you hear the speakers making bad sounds, turn down the volume, or turn down the lows. Is the 4x12 a bass 4x12 or a guitar 4x12? If it's a guitar 4x12, you're definitely going to want to run just mids and and highs through it (cut the lows on whichever amp you use for that cab).
Whatever you do, don't connect the speaker output of one head to any input of the other head.
3) i don t understand how i can have one pick up go to o e amp amd the other one to the other amp?
I just listed the process for you in response to your first question. If you have a Rickenbacker and it's a model 4001 or 4003, chances are it has the stereo functionality. Most basses don't have this. Follow those steps and that's how you do it.
4) which amp would be the slave unit?
In a stereo rig as I've listed the steps for, neither would be. A stereo setup is different from a slave/master setup.
To do a slave/master set up, you would run a single cable from the mono output jack of your bass (the one labeled "standard" on your rickenbacker) to the input jack of whichever amp you wanted to use the preamp of (the section of the amp with the controls and stuff).
What you would then do, is connect the "preamp out" or "slave out" jack of one amp to the "power amp in" of the other amp. Each amp would also be connected to its own cab.
You would then just use the controls of the "master" amp, and it would control the "slave" amp as well.
