Help repairing peavey max combo amp

So I have this combo amp that I bought awhile ago and used for a few months, and now someone I know wants to buy a cheapish bass amp, but mine, now that I try to use it after a few months, isn't working properly.

I can get sound out of it, clear sound like it's supposed to be, but then out of the blue it will get very staticky, if that's a word, or just completely stop making sound, but in a few moments it will be just fine again. It seems to happen more frequently at louder volumes, I've checked to make sure it's not the speaker, and I'm pretty positive it isn't.

So I opened it up earlier, and I honestly have no idea what I'm looking at, the only thing that seems a little suspicious is what looks like melted glue or rubber around a few cylindrical nodes covering a little of the surrounding area. .

Any trouble shooting help, or repair advice any one can offer?

Does this amp have an effects loop, or "preamp out/poweramp in" jacks? Often these switching jacks get corroded. The simple test is to run a cable from "efx send" to "efx return" ( or "preamp out" to "poweramp" in) and see if your problem goes away.

Deoxit can be used to clean these corroded jacks if the cable test indicates that where your problem is.

This.

My bass makes a static-like sound when I push the cable that's plugged into it sideways. Just a bit of pressure, sometime it even disconnects. Check everything before doing something to the amp!

Also, as mentionned, pictures help.

This MIGHT be the problem, as it does seem to happen when I shift the cable, however, I thought that couldn't be it as I had just taken the cable out of the package, it is only a cheap 10 inch cord however.

I will try to get pictures up in a few, having issues at the moment.
