Help setting up pedalboard

I am helping my daughter set up her pedalboard and had some questions about the chain… what’s the best order of pedals based on what she currently has?

Boss BCB 90x Pedalboard w/ power supply
TC Polytune 3 Tuner
Keely Compressor Plus
Tech 21 Sans Amp Driver
MXR Bass Octave Deluxe
MXR Bass Envelope Filter
Big Muff Pi Fuzz w/ DI
Morley 20/20 Classic Wah

I would try the following:

Big Muff Pi Fuzz w/ DI
Morley 20/20 Classic Wah
Keely Compressor Plus
MXR Bass Octave Deluxe
MXR Bass Envelope Filter
Tech 21 Sans Amp Driver
TC Polytune 3 Tuner

I would just move the BDDI to the end. Try the wah first in line and check if you like the sound there because it sounds different. The rest seems alright.

This is the first I’ve heard about moving the tuner to the end of the chain…

I always put the tuner first. Then usually I put compressor but since you have a wah, a filter, and a muff I don't know, I would experiment. All 3 of those react to the attack so they want to be first. I'd read the manual and disable the buffer from that tuner if you can, I think it's a dipswitch. The muff and the envelope will work better. Still a better option than running the tuner last in my opinion.

But the real answer is there is no correct way, whatever sounds best to you is best. Every kind of effect works differently based on what is before it. Experiment. Have fun.

maybe something like this... experiment with stacking the octaver,fuzz and DI to see which sounds best. Also compression, if youre using it to limit might be best at the end.

This is the first I’ve heard about moving the tuner to the end of the chain…

The reasoning is that if you end up with a wonky pedal cable or something, you can use the tuner last as a mute so you can troubleshoot or swap cables. However, if you have a preamp or DI, you'll want the tuner before that so you also mute the signal to the house during troubleshooting OR tuning.

Thanks for all the replies. This is a Christmas gift and we are going to be making our own cables and setting it up together as a project, so I guess we’ll try a few things and see what works. I’m sure some of her instructors at school will be able to help her as well if we can’t figure it out.
