Hey Randall,

I have a flamed maple Warwick I want to refinish as well. How hard was it to get the old stain off? Sand down to wood?

I have tried to strip a poly fender before and it took days......

To be honest it was pain. I used a hand sander to break through the clear coat then did everything else by hand. And actually couldn't get all of the stain out. That is why I went with a darker stain in the end. Started 60 grit and work my way up to 220

I dont actually have and pics. Of that yet. To be honest there wasn't much I could do......I chip filled the best I could but it still has its beauty marks......I guess I live with it
