Alright... I have a minor crisis here folks. I'm sure you are all familiar with the movie "Brokeback Mountain". Well, my girlfriend realllllly wants to see this movie, she thinks it looks interesting. Me on the other hand, does not want to see this movie one single bit because I really have no intrest in a gay cowboy love story. Now what do you think I should do? Sacrifice 2 hours of my life and watch this movie with her, and possibly earn some brownie points... or don't watch it because the movie is completly horrible and gross.

I need a guy's opinion on this one, and it would help if he had seen the movie. Maybe it actually is a good movie, I really don't know! What should I do?!

Relationships are about give and take. You do what she wants to do sometimes, and she does what you want to do other times. Sometimes you might even get to do something you both like! ;) But any decent girl is worth making a few small sacrifices for, you can't have things your way all the time. Go see it.

I say dont. If its a movie that will make you uncomfortable there is no point. There are plenty of movies you can both see together, if she desperatly wants to see it can't she go with a friend?

+1

consider it a chip to cash in later.

I haven't seen it personally, but I've had friends tell me their opinions.

One said that it was "just another love story, and what can you really do with that?"

Another called it "just another movie about an unavailable man."

Both these people were men. The women I've talked to liked it, so I fear you're in for a chick flick.

It's a fine movie, I enjoyed it a lot. A rather sad tale about two messed up people and their impossible relationship. Even if you're homophobic, it's not like it contains any explicit pictures that will scar you for life, or anything even remotely close to it.

depends, are you talking about actually going to the movies and spending almost 10 bucks (over that if you gte drink/popcorn)?

(i don't even know if it's still in the movies, i'm just saying..

then i say no..

renting it, sure, why not? just have her rent it if she wants to see it so badly.

there's no point in paying for something you REALLY don't want to do/see. if she really cares for you, she should understand that. and in some cases while talking to her, reverse the situation. say there is some really good movie coming out that you're dying to see but she has no interest in. how would you (and her) approach the situation like that?

Show her that you can tolerate homosexuality. It's better than showing her that you can't.
it's not an issue of tolerating homosexuality. i have many homosexual friends (both male and female) and we all get along fine. i am tolerant of homosexuals, i just have no interest of seeing the movie, mainly being that it looks like a typical chick flick love story.

maybe he thinks the same way.

You nailed it on the head. Thats the exact reason why I don't want to see it. I have no problem with homosexuals either but its just I really don't want to watch a whole chick flick about them. That to me is seriously something that im not interested in at all. Im not homophobic one bit, and im certainly not afriad its going to turn me gay lol, its just the movie sounds extremely lame.

To tell you the truth though, I think im just going to see it with her since she did have to sit through "Kung Pow" with me.
