All of you who dismiss this film beforehand because you believe it's just another average stereotypical "chick flick"... where have you heard that? For it is not. It doesn't really have any of the standard clichés usually associated with "chick flick" romantic dramas (or at least they aren't that obvious), and that's the main reason why I liked it.

Or perhaps you fellows belong to those who'd call "Titanic" a "chick flick". Or those who dismiss anything without explosions and machine guns as "chick flicks". ;)

Well... my girlfriend even called it a chick flick. I don't really understand how it couldn't be one, all you have to do is watch the trailor for the movie and its pretty clear it looks like a chick flick. You didn't see men flocking to the theaters when it first came out did you? I mean the straight ones btw.

However I have not seen the movie so I really don't know. I guess il be finding out!

Well, trailers are trailers... I was skeptical myself when my two male, straight, friends asked if I wanted to see it with them. I'd just seen the trailer and hear people call it a "love story"... was it really worth my time and money? I gave in to peer pressure. I didn't regret it.

Roughly half of the audience were male when I saw it. I guess males could shy away from it because:
* They're homophobic ("Eeewww, gay!!!")
* They judge it after seeing the trailer ("Huh, just a chick flick.")
I don't see any of them as a particularily good reason to avoid one of the best Hollywood movies of 2005. ;)
