I'm also a guitar player, and I've looked for a guitar forum similar to TB...but nothing quite like this exists for guitarists. The best I've found for me is TDPRI.

Oftentimes, a manufacturer's website will have a forum for that specific brand. For G&L, The G&L Enthusiasts Website. They're not as active as TB, but you might find what you're looking for.
