Help with a guitar ID

OK, I hope this doesn't get me banned instantly, but I'm trying to ID a guitar (not a bass. Sorry! It's for a friend). Is there a guitar forum that's as good as this one? I can't find it, but if it exists, just send me over there.

It's a G&L ASAT and the serial number starts with G047xxx. I can't find any pictures of G&L ASAT guitars that have the same knob and pickup setup or with the same font for the headstock. Help!

I don't know what Duncans are. He's going to get his hands on it in November, but I can try and find out!

Bassists are confident people - we just talk - hence Talkbass. If you want to attract guitarists to your forum, a name like Bragguitar would be.....appropriate.

Strat Talk is really friendly and helpful. TDPRI is excellent and is mainly a telecaster forum. Very knowledgeable folks there.

Oftentimes, a manufacturer's website will have a forum for that specific brand. For G&L, The G&L Enthusiasts Website. They're not as active as TB, but you might find what you're looking for.

As we age, we morph from "the guy who can't really play guitar" to "the guy who is always getting gigs" - at least those of us who keep at it.
