Help with amp questions

Hey everyone, I have lurked for a while I just wanted to jump in and ask this...

I play guitar more than anything, but want to move to bass for a group I am about to join. I play a tele with a Music Man HD-130 bass head through a 112 guitar cab. I want to be able to play bass or guitar through the same rig with no power or speaker issues.

I am not rock solid on keeping my head, I have looked at some Eden and GK heads I like, just need some help to figure out what the most economical method would be. I saw El Ten Eleven uses a GK rb800 and a 410 bass cab and plays guitar/bass through it. Any guidance would be great! I play indie/alt whatever, death cab/fugazi/white denim/tame impala

tl;dr version: Help me develop a good rig to play bass AND guitar through with no issues

Thanks in advance guys

You'll need a closed back BASS cabinet and speakers with enough x-max so they won't self destruct with bass frequencies. Wether or not guitar will sound acceptable through the same cab will be subjective. Your head is fine.

Ya, speakers that are really good at one aren't very good at the other. Maybe something like an Ampeg 410he as sort of an inbetween? Don't know if they're bright enough for you on guitar.

Or Mesa cabs or any other TL derivative that uses an EV 15L. One for guitar, two for bass.

This was kind of my worry, I have looked at some Ampeg 410 stuff and I appreciate the recommendation

I'd use the head but use separate cabs for bass and guitar. You're dealing with a very different set of frequencies and a cab voiced for guitar won't do justice to a bass and vice versa.

Keep your present 1x12" for your guitar and find a cab you like for bass that matches well with that head. Shouldn't be too hard and dragging along one small 1x12" cab too should be a big deal.
