Help with Ampeg Preamp Effects Jumper(15db) SCR-DI

Hi everyone, i'm from perú, i'm not good at speaking in english; i'll try my best.
I bought a ampeg preamp scr-di 1 month ago, and i'm using a passive fussion bass.
Everything is good, i do not have problems with it 'cause I've got ampeg sound i wished; but doing some research deeper; I found that the preamp has PAD FUNCTION (-15db).
So, i would like you to clear me some doubts, because i cannot understand some technical words in the manual :hyper::
1.- PIN 1-2 (Normal).- is for active or passive bass? this came by default.

2.- PIN 2-3 (15db Pad).- is for active or passive bass? idk, cause in the manual i read -15db but in inside the preamp it says only 15 without the " - ".

3.- I could have tested by myself what i said before; but here comes my third question, ¿How should i change or move from 1-2 to 2-3?, i tried but it's very hard to move it and I don't want to force it more because i'm afraid of damaging the preamp.

Thank you all.

1. , "normal" is for passive bass, or active bass with low/medium output.

2. "- 15 dB" is for "hot" (high output volume) active bass. This will reduce the signal level going into the distortion circuit so there is not too much gain.

It is not a switch, the small black block is a jumper that connects 2 of the 3 pins. To remove it, you would slide it to the right, pulling it off the pins, and then slide it back on over the 2 and 3 pins. These pin jumpers are common in home computers. The pin jumper in this video is white, not black, but you can see how these are removed and reset.

The minus sign is implied by Pad. Padding a signal is reducing it, so a 15dB pad means changing the signal by -15dB.
