Help with Bass

I have a bass that I use as backup to my MM Stingray and Its a very good built and pretty bass but I hate the sound. It just seems as thought the sound is not clear and the tone is muffled especially when playing with the rest of our band at a higher volume. Would you recommend something to me as far as changing the pickuops or anything else that would make this bass good.


Below is what it currently has. I appreciate your help if you can on what I could do to make this bass sound good.

hi there-

i'm not familiar with the sound or quality of K&B electronics but i can tell you that swapping out pickups and preamps can drastically improve the sound of an instrument. although they are not responsible for the entire sonic characteristics of the bass, if they are of a compromised quality or specification then you might not be hearing all that your bass has to offer. my favorite pickup and preamp combinations are bartolini, aguilar, and nordstrand. however, there are a lot of other choices out there that sound great, as well. i would definitely start with a pickup/preamp swap and see how you like it. chances are it will make a big difference.
